G5.3 Langden and Hareden Valleys Walk

A beautiful circular walk following Langden Brook rising to open moorland with picturesque views and descending via Hareden Brook.

Weather dependent: If, due to heavy rain, it is not possible to cross the brook we will stay on Langden Valley covering a similar distance.

This seven mile walk is graded hard.

What to Bring With You:

  • Any Medication Required
  • Clothing appropriate to the Weather Conditions
  • Stout Footwear – Flip Flop style footwear not allowed.
  • A Drink
  • Sunscreen & Insect Repellent, if required.

A ranger /walk leader will be at the start of an activity whatever the weather. In extreme conditions, the leader of the group will take a decision on the day whether or not cancel.

Planned Road Closure

We have been made aware that Lancashire Highways have a planned road closure, which will affect anybody planning to travel from the direction of Dunsop Bridge along the Trough Road to the meeting point at Langden Intake. Anyone intending to approach Landen Intake from the direction of Dunsop Bridge will need to find an alternative route and allow extra time for your journey.  If you have booked tickets for anyone else who may be travelling on the day please also make them aware of this closure.

Anyone travelling from the Scorton or Abbeystead direction will not be affected.

Whilst this planned closure is outside our control, we wish to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
