G4.2 Winmarleigh Moss Walk

Winmarleigh

Walking from the Winmarleigh church hall we will head out through lowland farmland towards Winmarleigh Moss.

A hidden gem, but the largest of Lancashire’s low raised bogs. Here we will, hopefully, see native flora and fauna associated with bog habitat whilst learning about how crucial peatland habitats help in the battle against climate change. Leaving Winmarleigh Moss we will make are way back to the church hall using local lanes and footpaths through the Fylde lowland plain with views out to Bowland and the Lakeland fells.

This eight mile walk is graded hard.
