Cycle Wyre for free this summer

Get on your bike and explore Wyre with free guided cycle rides this summer.

Wyre Council has organised a number of guided rides in Thornton and Fleetwood for people of all ages and abilities.

Led by qualified, experienced cycle leaders, rides will be cycled at an easy, relaxed pace and last for approximately one hour with rest and refreshment breaks.

Rides take place in Thornton on Monday evenings, starting at the Bay Horse car park, Station Road and cycling around Wyre Estuary Country Park before finishing back at the Bay Horse.

On Wednesday evenings head to Fleetwood where rides start out at Marine Hall and travel along the sea front towards Jubilee Gardens and back again.

Adapted bikes for people with disabilities are available to use in Fleetwood but must be booked in advance.

Timetable of cycle rides:

Mondays @ Thornton, 6-7pm
Starting at the Bay Horse car park
14, 21, 28 May
11, 18, 25 June
2 July

Wednesdays @ Fleetwood, 6-7pm
Starting at Marine Hall
16, 23, 30 May
6, 13, 20, 27 June
4 July

Those wishing to participate can just turn up with their bikes - helmets will be provided if required. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
