Shops in Wyre welcome to extend their opening hours over Christmas and into January

Following the Government’s announcement, Wyre Council will waive restrictions for retail businesses to allow them to extend their opening hours over the Christmas period and through January.
Although most shops have different restrictions on opening hours, the council will not enforce any planning conditions relating to opening hours on retail premises.
Retail businesses will be able to extend their opening hours from Monday – Saturday.
The council is also offering four hours of free parking on Thursdays, Friday and Saturday.
On these days, users may park free of charge for a maximum of four hours per day (two hours on Rough Lea Road in Cleveleys) and no ticket is required. Free parking is limited to one visit per day, per user. Anyone returning to a car park on the same day or wishing to park in excess of the free time limit will be required to purchase a ticket to cover the additional time of parking.
This offer will be available up to and including Christmas Eve on the following car parks:
Up to 4 hours maximum free parking per day:
- Fleetwood
- Custom House Lane
- Cleveleys
- Derby Road East
- Derby Road West
- North Promenade
- Jubilee Gardens
- Poulton
- Wheatsheaf Way
- Garstang
- High Street
Up to 2 hours maximum free parking per day (3 hours for Blue Badge holders in disabled bays only):
- Cleveleys
- Rough Lea Road
Please note, Albert Street car park in Fleetwood is currently not in use as a pay and display car park as it is being used as a COVID-19 testing site for pre-booked appointments.
