We invite you to come along to our country fayre at Wyre Estuary Country Park on Saturday 6 July. During the day there’ll be lots of activities taking place for the whole family to enjoy.

You will find a large marquee with a variety of stalls and displays, from local businesses to owl displays and charitable organisations. They will be selling a variety of products including home crafted items, food, sauces, and plants.

Volunteers with Wyre’s Countryside Service provide a variety of services for the borough. Check out the volunteering exhibition to learn about what they do, and find out how you can get involved.

Once you’ve finished browsing the stalls, take the chance to explore the rest of the park. With an innovative children’s play area and woods to make a den in, it’s a great place for families to enjoy and make memories.

Families can also join in the Xplorer orienteering trail. Xplorer is the perfect outdoor activity for everyone to get involved in. Enjoy using a simple map to complete the navigational challenge.

If it’s art and crafts the kids are interested in then bring them along to the bird box and caterpillar making with the parks rangers.

There’s lots to discover at award winning Wyre Estuary Country Park. There’s an exciting woodland trail as well as a network of accessible pathways by the breath taking Wyre estuary. Join the rangers for a guided walk at 1pm. Take a look at the largest area of ungrazed saltmarsh in Lancashire and learn more about the wildlife, discovering all the creatures and critters that reside there.

Fancy a bite to eat? Check out the on-site café. There is no better place to sit, relax and watch the world go by with homemade food and fresh roasted coffee.

Councillor Simon Bridge, Portfolio Holder for Streets Scenes, Parks and Open Spaces at Wyre Council comments, “This annual event is always very popular with the public. There’s activities available for families to participate in, and it’s a great way to showcase the park and its facilities”.

The event will take place at Wyre Estuary Country Park, River Road, Stanah, Thornton FY5 5LR on Saturday 6 July from 11am-6pm
