Wyre Business Awards Published Tuesday, 02 April 2019

Applications for the Wyre Business Awards will open next Monday 8 April. Organised by Wyre Council, this year’s event will be the 6th awards ceremony which celebrates business success in the borough.

The awards will be held once again at Marine Hall in Fleetwood and this year’s event will take place on Thursday 5 December.

The event has grown year on year and 2019 promises to be the most successful yet. With 22 categories to choose from, the awards are all encompassing for businesses of all shapes and sizes. The awards are open to businesses based in Wyre and those that contribute to the growth of the Wyre economy.

For those businesses who would like advice and assistance in completing an application there will be a series of drop in sessions at the Civic Centre in Poulton. The first two will take place on Wednesday 10 April between 10am and 12noon and 8 May between 10am and 12noon.

There are many different ways to get involved with the awards including an array of affordable sponsorship packages and advertising opportunities for businesses wishing support the event.

There is also an opportunity to take part on the judging panel. Applicants would need to be available in September to undertake scoring and interviews, and on the evening of the event.

Garry Payne, Chief Executive of Wyre Council comments, “The council is committed to connecting, promoting and celebrating the business community in Wyre, by helping to raise the standards, quality and competition of our businesses and help to position Wyre as a place to prosper.

“The awards are a testament to the thriving businesses in Wyre. Every year we see more and more businesses take part. The different categories mean that organisations large and small can take part, as well as community groups and individuals.”

To apply for an award go to from Monday 8 April where you will be able to complete a nomination form online. Full details of sponsorship packages will also be available on the website.
