Storm boards closed in Wyre due to high windsPublished Thursday, 14 June 2018
Wyre Council is taking precautions to deal with high winds coinciding with spring tides.
The council has made the decision this morning to close the storm gates and install the storm boards between South Promenade at top of Kingsway and 5 Bar Gate, Cleveleys Cafe Cove and Victoria Road West.
At present, we are not expecting adverse weather conditions or any flooding issues however council officers are monitoringthe situation closely an on standby should conditions worsen.
Members of the public are advised to stay off the promenade and beach for their own safety during high tides.
Storm boards/gates will be re-opened later this afternoon after high tide.
