The search is on for Wyre’s young stars

The search is on for Wyre’s young stars Published Wednesday, 21 February 2018

Nominations are being sought for Wyre’s most inspirational young people.

Every year the Mayor of Wyre presents the prestigious Sheraton Trophy to a rising star who has brought pride to the borough as a result of their achievements.

Wyre Council wants to hear about young people who have excelled in any walk of life, be it sport, the arts, community work, volunteering or achievement against the odds.

One deserving winner, chosen by outgoing Mayor Councillor Alice Collinson, will be presented with the trophy at the council’s annual meeting on Thursday 10 May 2018.

Last year’s trophy was awarded to 12 year old Izzy Hendry, from Fleetwood in recognition of her wide range of success across sport.

Do you know an inspirational young person? To nominate them for this year’s Sheraton Trophy, email or write to Andrea Mullin, Wyre Council, Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7PU.

The deadline for entries is 5 pm on Friday 23 March 2018.
