It's almost time for the Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival

Food Festival Published Tuesday, 12 July 2016

The Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival is back at Marine Hall, Fleetwood on Sunday 14 August. Come along between 10am and 4pm for a delicious day out for all the family – entry is free.

There’s everything a foodie could wish for including cheeses, chutneys, cakes, chocolates, jams, pies, puddings and much more. There will also be some tempting wines to try and buy, delicious ciders, specialist coffees, traditional teas and some delicious fruity liqueurs on sale.

Plus, the tastiest street food around will be cooking outside. Will you have paella or polish sausage, gourmet burgers or pulled pork, omelettes or burritos? You will be spoilt for choice.

The talented chefs from Twelve Restaurant will be hosting cooking demonstrations on stage throughout the day - don't miss your chance to watch them cook up three delicious courses. Find out how to create a tasty starter, impressive main course and perfect pudding. They will be using the best of Lancashire ingredients to showcase dishes you can try your hand with at home.  The chefs will also be taking questions from the audience - a great chance to pick up some tips.

For the first year, the venue is hosting a cake bake off contest. Open to all ages, there will be a young bakers category for under 16s and an adult category. You can enter with any type of cake, large or small the choice is yours. There's a pair of tickets to see Bucks Fizz at Marine Hall up for grabs for the adult winner and two tickets to the venue’s indoor ice skating sessions in the Christmas holidays for the best junior entry.

All you need to do to enter is register by calling Marine Hall on 01253 887693 and bring your creation on the day at 9.30am before the event starts. A panel of expert bakers will announce the winner at 2.15pm, so be sure to stick around to see if you've won.
There is plenty for the kids to enjoy too including pizza making, cupcake and gingerbread decorating, mask making and fun quizzes so bring the whole family for a great day out by the seaside!

Janet Heald, Events and Front of House Manager at Marine Hall comments, “The food festival is a real highlight in the Marine Hall calendar for us now. We are delighted to welcome back exhibitors year after year and to introduce new businesses to the event.

“We’re hoping for a great turn out again, it’s nice to bring new people into Marine Hall and shout about all the different things we have to offer. Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band will be back, serenading visitors with their much loved renditions of well-known songs and brass band classics.  So come along, pull up a deck chair, grab some lunch and some treats to take home and enjoy the day.”
