Kepple Lane park won the 2015 Lancashire Environmental Fund Best Practice award for the best play area.
On Friday 25 September, Trustees Gordon Harter and Joan Baptie went to the LEF Annual Event at Singleton Village Hall to collect the award, which comprised of a framed certificate and a lovely gift of a piece of fused glass art.
The Lancashire Environmental Fund (LEF) is a partnership between SITA UK Ltd, Lancashire County Council, The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside and Community Futures.
The Fund has distributed over £20m of Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) grants support to community and environmental projects which benefit the environment and people of Lancashire since its start in 1998.
Kepple Lane park, which received funding from Wyre Council in 2013 through the Shape Your Neighbourhood scheme, won the award for its fantastic trim trail, an outdoor exercise area which uses the latest smartphone technology to encourage people to keep fit and to socialise.
