Re-live the story of Lindisfarne at Marine Hall, Fleetwood
Published Wednesday, 23 September 2015
Lindisfarne has been Tyneside's best-loved band for over thirty years and they are bringing their new show to Marine Hall, Fleetwood next month.
The Lindisfarne Story is a celebration of the group's music and achievements and is devised, written and performed by drummer/founder member Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell, front man for the final eight years of the group. Ray and Billy perform acoustic versions of Lindisfarne's classic songs and tell the inside story of the group's rise to fame, from Whitley Bay to Frisco Bay, from Rothbury to Glastonbury.
Lady Eleanor, Meet Me On The Corner, Fog on the Tyne, Run for Home - all of these songs have a story behind them. Enjoy hearing them again in an intimate venue and discover what the inspiration was behind their composition.
Billy Mitchell comments, “Come along to Marine Hall and enjoy a fantastic night with The Lindisfarne Story. There are so many words to describe the show and you will feel many emotions with it. It is a real insight into the history of the band and the talented individuals that have forged many fantastic songs over five decades. It really is very special, catch it before it's gone.”
The Lindisfarne Story is on at Marine Hall on Sunday 18 October at 7.30pm. Tickets are £16, to book call 01253 887693 or visit www.marinehall.co.uk
