Liverpool’s favourite Beatles tribute, the Mersey Beatles are taking to the stage at Marine Hall on 27 November, exactly 80 years since the venue was first opened.
The show is a special celebration of the fact that The Beatles once played at the venue back in 1962.
Regular’s at Liverpool’s Cavern Club this band perfectly recreates the atmosphere of the original Beatles. Described as an ‘all era spectacular’, The Mersey Beatles present a show of two halves. Costumes in the first half include the grey suits of the early years and the Shea Stadium jackets of the Beatles biggest ever show. It is a showcase of their early hits and album favourites. In the second half the boys emerge in Sergeant Pepper suits to present the songs of the psychedelic years. After a quick change it's a trip to the Abbey Road years to represent the some of the band’s best loved songs from their final years.
Joe Flannery, The Beatles first booking manager says, "The Mersey Beatles sound is as close as you'll get to the original Beatles", while John Lennon's sister, Julia Baird comments, "They're the best Beatles tribute I've heard… and I've heard them all!" Like the original line up, The Mersey Beatles are from Liverpool adding to the authenticity of their sound. In short this is a show which no Beatles fan will want to miss.
Steven Howard, aka Paul in The Mersey Beatles comments, “On 27 November we will be bringing our show home to the UK at Marine Hall in Fleetwood following our second tour of the USA. We are very excited about this as it’s a place where The Beatles have actually played.
“Over the years we have performed at many of the venues graced by The Beatles. This includes the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, where The Mersey Beatles have now played more times than the Beatles themselves, plus many other original haunts where the early Beatles played in Liverpool. We have also played at venues in Hamburg, Germany and in the first overseas venue that the post fame Beatles played at in Karlstad, Sweden. We have even been lucky enough to play as far afield as the centennial hall In Adelaide, Australia, where The Beatles played in 1964. Perhaps our most prestigious performance to date was a live set we played at the place where The Beatles recorded almost all of their music, Abbey Road studios in London.
“Always by invitation, it's nice to follow in the most famous footsteps of them all. The boys are proud to be adding Marine Hall to this list. We invite you to get your ticket to ride and we guarantee a splendid time for all!”
The show starts at 7.30pm on Friday 27 November and tickets are £15. To book your seats call Marine Hall on 01253 887693 or you can book online at www.marinehall.co.uk
