Laptops for Kids
This new scheme is run by Wyre Council in partnership with the Laptops for Kids Charity, who co-ordinate used (in good working order) devices to be distributed to schools and other educational institutions across the North of England. This scheme does not replace or duplicate any schemes run by schools, and this service is in addition to the government scheme which is already proving beneficial for many students and educational institutions.
With schools remaining closed, Wyre Council is asking you to help those pupils who are struggling with access to devices for home schooling. We are working to bridge the gap between your unwanted devices and the children who may need them the most by encouraging local businesses and individuals to donate unwanted devices.
If you have laptop, computer, mobile phone or tablet you can donate please fill in the form:
Once your form has been submitted please leave your device in the container at any of these locations:
- Marine Hall, The Esplanade, Fleetwood, FY7 6HF on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 11am to 2pm. (The container will be situated at the front entrance.)
- The Civic Centre, Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7PU Monday to Friday 11 am to 2pm ( The container will be situated at the front entrance.)
- The Bellflower pub, Parkside Lane, Garstang, PR3 OJA. (Please call 01995 238207 to make arrangements prior to drop off at this location.)
Donated equipment must be less than 5 years old and in full working order. The device should be running, or capable of running, the Windows 10 operating system.
