Our aim

Our aim is to raise the profile of arts and culture locally. The development of the network will provide a platform to share information and the opportunity to offer support to those working within the creative sector.

The network

The network is facilitated by Wyre Council and supported by LeftCoast and is targeted at emerging, student or professional artists based or working in Wyre. Wyre Creatives is in its infancy but membership and interest is growing with currently around 50 members. Shaping the network is where we are at the moment; this is your chance to be part of those developments. We are taking time to consider the focus of the network and look at how a programme of development can be shaped.

The network has real and virtual membership through the development of a quality brand and meeting opportunities. The network meetings have taken place in Fleetwood, Garstang and Thornton, and have offered artists from all visual art forms to share their views on the network moving forward. Ideas so far have been around: professional development, fundraising, selling exhibitions and community based projects. Along with this, one of our main ambitions is to develop a studio space or gallery space that Wyre based artists can use in the near future.
