Issues and options 2015
As part of producing the new local plan, an issues and options document was prepared to identify the key issues facing the borough – including an ageing population, pressure for new housing and the creation of sustainable economic growth – and the options for addressing them.
Appendix 1 of the issues and options document contains a series of maps identifying potential development sites. An interactive map which shows the same sites is also available.
Wyre council values the contribution of residents and other interested parties in the planning process and carried out a public consultation on the issues and options document from 17 June 2015 to 7 August 2015.
The council received 755 responses. In addition the council received three petitions against further development at Scorton (200 signatures from residents and 400 from visitors) and Calder Vale (23 signatures). The responses have been considered and will feed into producing the local plan. A short summary report of the main matters raised and the council response has been produced. The council will be publishing a more detailed comprehensive report to all matters raised.
There will be two further stages of public consultation on the initial draft and a subsequent final draft of the plan currently scheduled for next year.
The council also published a sustainability appraisal of the issues and options document. This assesses the vision, objectives and three spatial options against a set of sustainability objectives. Comments on the sustainability appraisal were also welcomed.
As part of the consultation process, the council also produced a series of supporting documentation:
