Coronavirus updates

Schools

Lancashire County Council is responsible for schools in Wyre. There is more information on their website.

From 8 March

Pupils returned to face-to-face education in school and further education in England from 8 March. Wraparound childcare, such as after-school clubs, also re-opened to enable parents to work, attend education, access medical care or attend a support group.

Testing for families with schoolchildren

All households with children of school age are being asked to take twice-weekly Covid-19 tests.

About 1 in 3 people with coronavirus do not have symptoms but can still pass it on to others. Regular testing of people without symptoms is important to help stop the virus spreading and protect your loved ones. As lockdown restrictions gradually ease we all need to play our part to help protect each other. Visit our webpage for more information on how to get the tests.
