Making your business or venue Covid safe
New legislative requirements for keeping records of staff, customers and visitors to support NHS Test and Trace
Regulations were amended on 29 March 2021 and you must now request that every individual scan the NHS QR code or provide their contact details upon arrival, not just the lead member of the group. This is to make sure that every person can receive timely public health advice if they may have been exposed to Covid-19.
You should make sure that all your staff have been notified of this change and understand that they are now required to ask all people entering the venue to scan the NHS QR code or provide their contact details. Exemptions include children under the age of 16 and people entering a venue for drop off / takeaway only. The following posters and guidance are provided to help with the new legislation:
- Hospitality venue check-in regulations detailed poster
- Hospitality venue check-in regulations simplified poster
- Venue alerts poster - a guide for businesses
A letter has also been issued to relevant businesses detailing the new requirements. For more advice please visit Restaurants, pubs, bars and takeaway services - Working safely
