Wyre Council

News In Brief

Published on Monday 13th June 2011

Wyre residents are being asked to identify which council services they want to learn more about and how they prefer to receive that information.

A short questionnaire can be completed online at http://consult.wyrebc.gov.uk/portal and hard copies are being circulated on various community venues.

The review is being carried out by Wyre Council to ensure that communication with the public is both relevant and cost effective. The results will help shape a new communications strategy underlining how the council will inform, involve and engage its residents in local decision making.

2. Teams are wanted for two exciting new seven-a-side football leagues coming to Fleetwood for the summer.

A junior league for 14 and 16 year olds will run on Tuesday evenings starting on 12 July, while an adults league for 16 to 25 year olds will run on Wednesdays from 13 July. Games will be played on the astroturf at Fleetwood High School from 6pm to 8pm.

The initiative is being run by Wyre Council with full affiliation to the Football Association using fully qualified FA referees.

Eight teams are needed for each league and each team must have a named contact for admin purposes.
