It'll be a Blast!

Published on Thursday 5th November 2009

This weekend will be a big blast for Phillip Wardle of Cleveleys, who has been drawn as the lucky winner of the Mayor of Wyre's Charity Raffle.

He will be the man to push the plunger and bring down Thornton's iconic ICI chimney at 11am on Saturday 7 November.

Mayor and Mayoress of Wyre, Councillor Alan and Mrs Kath Vincent, will be attending when the event takes place, and are delighted that the raffle has raised £1,400 for Trinity Hospice and Fleetwood RNLI.

The prize was donated to the Mayoral Charities by NPL Estates and the raffle tickets donated by Poulton Press.
