Storm boards now open along the Wyre coastPublished Monday, 08 October 2018
Storm boards that were yesterday closed along the coast following an alert from the Environment Agency, have now been opened.
High tides coupled with a predicted tidal surge of 0.29m and South Westerly winds resulted in the decision to close the storm gates and boards along the promenade between Cleveleys and Fleetwood.
In addition an Environment Agency flood alert for the Wyre Estuary resulted in the installation of storm boards at Quail Holme car park, Knott End.
The boards and gates are now open and were removed over the course of the afternoon (09 October).
