To help mark the NHS’s 70th birthday, over 70 buildings, historic monuments and other high profile sites across the country will be ‘lighting up’ blue on the evening of Thursday, 5 July.

Marine Hall in Fleetwood is taking part and the glass domed roof will be proudly lit up blue.

Lynne Bowen, Leisure, Health and Community Engagement Portfolio Holder at Wyre Council comments: “It’s fantastic that we are able to support the NHS's 70 anniversary in this way. By lighting up Marine Hall we are literally shining a light on our commitment to working with the NHS to help improve the health and wellbeing of people in Wyre. Alongside Fylde and Wyre CCG and partner organisations such as Healthier Fleetwood we are able to offer events and activities that support a healthy lifestyle, some of which take place here at Marine Hall such as our weekly Harmony and Health singing group.”

The NHS is encouraging people to take photos and share them via social media using the hashtags: #NHS70 and #LightUpBlue. So, if you’re passing Marine Hall, take a snap and share it, we’d love to see your photos.
