Get back to nature!

Rossall Point, Poetry Published Wednesday, 23 May 2018

Wyre Council is offering nature lovers a new and exciting volunteering opportunity at Rossall Point.

Rossall Point first opened its doors in 2015 to offer an educational facility to residents and visitors providing information on the local coastal environment, bird and plant life as well as.

The observation decks also offers great opportunities for bird watching or simply enjoying the fantastic views across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland Fells and out to sea.

You can now join the team at Rossall Point to support beach clean projects, run events, meet and greet visitors, record and survey wildlife and lead tours of the observation deck for visitors to learn about the coastal environment, wild life or just enjoy the view.

Rossall Point is open during the summer from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm (and bank holidays) and during the winter, Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 3pm (and bank holidays except Christmas Day)

Wye Council is holding sessions for prospective volunteers to find out more about the opportunities. No previous experience is required, just an interest in the outdoors!

If you’d like to come along to speak to our officers and volunteers, join us at Rossall Point on Friday 8 June, 1pm-4pm, Outer Promenade, Fleetwood, FY7 8PG.

If you’re not available on Friday 8 June, you can contact the volunteer coordinator or call 01253 887504.
