The Little Unsaid will be performing at Thornton Little Theatre on Friday 6 April as part of their UK tour. The bar will be open from 6:30pm for the show to start at 7:30pm. Don’t miss out on one of the UK’s must-see rising live acts and recent winners of the Steve Reid Award for innovation. Tickets are only £10!
The Little Unsaid release a new album for Reveal Records (home of Lau, Joan As Police Woman, Eddi Reader and more) in 2018. Fronted by songwriter John Elliott, they are a band with an original sound and international outlook. The Little Unsaid have spent the last year touring Europe, leaving audiences emotionally rapt with a live show that’s been described as ‘a thumping depth of passion’. Their sound is all their own but echoes the intensity and melancholic overtones of greats such as Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen. 2017’s critically-acclaimed Imagined Hymns & Chaingang Mantras album was recorded with Radiohead engineer and film score producer Graeme Stewart. The Little Unsaid embrace elements of rock, folk, electronica, jazz and alt-pop.
This is the first collaboration between Fleetwood Folk and Blues and Wyre Theatres. It's going to be a unique evening and hopefully the first of more collaborative work. Working in partnership is bringing artists to the area and supporting them with local acts. With this being their first joint venture, positive support means they will be able to continue this lucrative partnership. This event sees local Greenwich Village style duo, Plant & Taylor supporting The Little Unsaid.
Plant & Taylor who use guitar, mandolin and harmony vocals to present their own 'modern folk' songs, and also songs by the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Gillian Welch, Jackson C Frank,& Dylan. This summer releasing their debut LP, 'Goodbye, Prairie Girl', which is receiving high acclaim with great reviews.
John Elliott a member of the Little Unsaid band for Vocals, Keys, Guitar and Programming comments: “We live for those moments where we’re all completely present, us and the audience, and something sparks between us that is somehow both stratospheric and deeply personal. The heartstrings shiver and the mind opens up and the fist thumps the floor to celebrate the unfathomable mayhem we all tumble around in together. This has been our fuel on these adventures and it’s always the reason we sit down to make new music and take it out into the world.’
Bob Harris from BBC Radio 2 comments: ‘Extraordinary music. This is an amazing act!’
2018 looks set to be the busiest year yet for The Little Unsaid as they finish writing and collaborating on new material in preparation for their next studio album. The Little Unsaid will play live shows starting in March 2018 in support of Day Is Golden and Selected Works.
