New leader for Wyre’s Conservative group Published Monday, 27 November 2017

On Thursday 23 November at Wyre’s Conservative group meeting, Councillor David Henderson was elected as leader of the Conservative group.

As a result Wyre’s Conservative party will propose that Councillor Henderson be elected as leader of Wyre Council at the next meeting of full council on Thursday 7 December.

David Henderson first became a councillor on 3 May 2007 and is the councillor for Breck ward in Poulton. He was a member of the planning committee for seven years, serving as Chairman of the committee for four of those, before being appointed to cabinet and becoming the portfolio holder for street scene, parks and open spaces in 2015.

Councillor David Henderson comments, “I am honoured and happy to be the leader of the Conservative group of Wyre and look forward to being the leader of the council. It will be business as usual for the foreseeable future as Wyre Council is a well-run authority. I will ensure there is now a period of calm and stability.”
