All storm board and gates closed along the coast

Cleveleys prom covered in water due to strong winds Published Monday, 16 October 2017

In response to warnings of windy weather from Monday afternoon and into Tuesday, all storm boards and gates along the coast in Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Knott End will be closed today as a precaution.

Members of the public are advised not to proceed onto the promenade and to take extra care when outside due to the risk of injury from flying debris.

The strong winds are expected to continue into tomorrow and it is expected that the gates/boards will remain closed until Wednesday.

The Fleetwood to Knott End Ferry will continue to run until 2.15pm on Monday – the operator will advise passengers when the service will resume on their noticeboards on site. Access to the slipway at Knott End will be closed off shortly after the last crossing and will remain in place until the service is restarted.
