Parish councils shaping their local areaPublished Thursday, 11 May 2017
Barton Parish Council and Myerscough and Bilsborrow Parish Council have applied to Preston City Council and Wyre Council for designation of a neighbourhood area.
The name of the proposed neighbourhood area will be: Barton Village Neighbourhood Area.
Neighbourhood planning gives communities the chance to help shape their area including where new development should be and what it should look like. A plan might include new homes, shops and offices.
A neighbourhood plan must be in line with the council’s Local Plan and is subject to an independent examination and community referendum. If approved, a neighbourhood plan forms part of the Local Plan and is used in helping to make decisions on planning applications in that area.
Preston City Council and Wyre Council are consulting on the neighbourhood area application from Thursday 4 May until Friday 16 June 2017 before making a decision.
Comments on the application can be made to email@example.com or in writing to Planning Policy, Preston City Council, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL by 5pm on Friday 16 June 2017.
