Three upcoming events provide the chance to experience first rate entertainment and raise money for local charities.

Every new Mayor of Wyre chooses charities for the municipal year. Outgoing Mayor of Wyre Councillor Terry Lees is providing support to NSPCC Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and the Soldiers Sailors Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Lancashire.

Two events will be taking place in the coming weeks, both in aid of these charities that aim to support people in and around Wyre.

The first of these events is a concert by the Blackpool Male Voice Choir. Sponsored by NPL Estates Ltd, this musical event will take place on Friday 10 March at Thornton Little Theatre with a start time of 7:30pm.

The Blackpool Male Voice Choir has been entertaining for 90 years and has established a reputation for fine singing with first-class entertainment at various venues throughout the Fylde coast and beyond including the Royal Albert Hall. Tickets cost £6 each.

The second event is a Charity Ball hosted by the Mayor of Wyre, Councillor Terry Lees, himself. This black-tie event will be held at the North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood on Friday 24 March at 6:30pm. With a three-course meal and entertainment from DJ Scottie, enjoyment is guaranteed to be had and it’s all for a good cause. Tickets cost £32.50.

For more information about these events and to book tickets please email andrea.mullin@wyre.gov.uk or call 01253 887257.

That’s not all however. Wyre’s Youth Mayor, Jess Basquill, is also hosting a Charity Ball on Saturday 25 February. Her event is to raise money for a different set of charities, five of them in fact. They are; Fleetwood Food Bank, The Mustard Seed, Cleveleys Store House, Lourdes and Amazing Graze. The event will be held at the Village Hotel in Blackpool with a start time of 7:00pm. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Jessy C, singer Chloe Rose Moyle and Flute and Saxophone Lewis Dickinson. All of this along with a three-course meal, raffle and guest speakers can be purchased at a cost of £25 per ticket.
