Fire breaks out at industrial unit in PillingPublished Friday, 06 January 2017
At 2:34am this morning fire services were called after a fire broke out at an industrial unit on Taylors Lane in Pilling.
Seventeen people and two dogs were evacuated from the neighbouring houses and escorted to Wyre Council’s offices at the Civic Centre, Poulton which acted as a rest centre.
Wyre Council was pleased to assist with this incident which was dealt with successfully through partnership working between, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire County Council and Wyre Council.
The fire is now under control and the evacuees are being allowed to return to their homes.
Firefighters will be at the scene for most of the day and the fire investigation has begun but at the moment there are no suggestions to how the fire started.
