Garstang community recycling and reuse centre

We are looking for volunteers to help give new life to unwanted household goods, furniture, bicycles and electrical items. The Garstang community recycling and reuse centre is run by a local charity in collaboration with Lancashire County Council, with the aim to stop useful items from going to waste and benefit the local community.

You will be performing such tasks as:

  • Checking and accepting stock donations.
  • Assisting with sales and contributing to a welcoming and productive shop environment.
  • Assist with preparation of items for sale and develop creative solutions to re-use and reinvent donated stock.
  • Using creative and practical skills to increase sales of stock through displays, repairs and upcycling.
  • Promote the shop and all the benefits of the re-use shop in the local community to increase footfall.

You must possess well developed customer care and service skills. To have a positive, enthusiastic and helpful manner, and be prepared to work in all weathers. Volunteers must be over the age of 18.
