Our salaries compete with other local authorities within the area. What’s more, you’ll receive a whole bundle of additional benefits while working for us.
From the very first day, you’ll be able to join the local government pension scheme with Wyre contributing over 13% towards your pension.
All new entrants to local government start with a minimum of 23 days (pro rata) in addition to all bank holidays. Entitlements rise to 25 days after four years and 28 days after five years local government service (pro rata).
Training and development
We offer a range of comprehensive training for all our staff. This includes technical on the job training, in-house courses, college and university level training.
Corporate health services
All of our staff have access to our Employee Support Programme, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We also provide regular wellbeing assessments for our staff.
We offer free on site parking to all of our staff based at the Civic Centre, Marine Hall and Thornton Little Theatre.
We do everything we can to help our staff achieve that perfect work life balance. This includes family friendly policies and enhanced maternity and paternity entitlements.
We offer our people a range of investment opportunities from additional voluntary contribution pension schemes to credit unions for those saving for something special.
As part of our commitment to health and wellbeing, we offer all our staff discounted gym memberships.
Relocating is a huge decision for anyone. We understand it’s a big change for you and your family but we are here to support you. Depending on the post you have applied for, we can even pay towards removal costs and solicitors fees.
