With superb views, reaching as far as the Lake District on a clear day, The Mount is the perfect place to sit and admire the vast beauty of the North West coastline. When the conditions are right, usually close to sunset on a summer night, you can see the hills of the Isle of Man.
Admire the town crest and enjoy the colourful rockeries and coastal planting.
Did you know?
This iconic landmark is undergoing a revival as we take the landscape back to its original 19th century design.
Thanks to a generous £1m donation from Mrs Doreen Lofthouse, the seaward side of The Mount’s Grade II registered gardens has been restored, bringing back the railings that topped the esplanade wall. At the same time the shelters have been restored, pathways repaired and resurfaced and heritage benches added. You can see how things now look from the Mount webcam
A £2.4m project with grant funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to transform the landward side including pavilion, rose garden and gate lodge, is expected to start in 2019.
Public conveniences are located at Marine Hall car park
The pavilion is available to hire. Please contact us for further information
