March 2012 Update

Marine Hall

The works are now substantially complete and only minor finishing off works remain. The Marine Hall colonnade roof repairs are currently ongoing as in the repainting of the Marine Hall itself.

Officers are working on preparations for a launch and festival later this year for the whole Sea Change programme, which will take place over a weekend in September.

Photographs and up to date reports can be found on the Sea Change Facebook page and on website www.wyreseachange.co.uk

Rossall Point

The Rossall Point project is progressing well and the steel has now been delivered to site and erection commenced. This has involved closing the promenade to the public for health and safety reasons. Video and photographic evidence will soon be available. The building works will be complete by the end of June/early July. Officers are currently working closely with the architect and the artist on the art work and interpretation elements for the building.

Mythic Coastline

The manufacture of the artwork features on Cleveleys Promenade i.e. the Sea Swallow, Shipwreck Memorial and Wyre Way Entrance is ongoing and installation is scheduled for the early summer. This will be followed by further artworks on Cleveleys Promenade, which are currently being designed.
